Palak emphasize digital inclusion to bridge the digital divide universally
G-Brain will soon be launched to use AI in government services
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak believes that it is possible to build a world of equal opportunities by reducing inequality through universal bridging of digital inclusion. At the same time, he said that the work of making G-Brain is already underway to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make the government services of the country more dynamic and free from corruption. He said digital inclusion is needed to bridge the digital divide universally. Also, we are working on G-Brain now. It is a state-of-the-art AI-based government service delivery system. We will soon introduce this system in place of the traditional digital system. It will speed up government services. Besides, corruption and irregularities and errors will come down to zero.
The Minister of State made this comment at the closing ceremony of "Regional Consultation on Global Digital Compact" organized by Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Sunday.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, Information and Communication Technology Division Secretary Md. Shamsul Arefin, United Nations RCO Representative Ms. Gwyn Lewis, Foreign Ministry Director General Fayaz Murshid Kazi, BNNRC Chief Executive Officer AHM Bazlur Rahman and others spoke in the event.
While speaking as the chief guest at the event, State Minister Palak said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has achieved significant progress in the field of digital inclusion in the last decade. We are providing digital government services at the village level through digital service delivery centers, bringing all government services under a single portal, creating technology-enabled skilled human resources and empowering women, he said. This is how we have been able to provide transparent, corruption free, fast and efficient government service delivery system. He said we are now working on G-Brain, an AI-based government service delivery system that will replace traditional systems.
Palak said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government believes in whole-of-government approach. The ICT Division is working with this approach and sharing our innovations and initiatives with other ministries and departments to provide better government services. He further said that digital-services have reached remote areas of the country. Villagers are getting online-services due to the availability of internet. Calling upon all the member states of BIMSTEC, State Minister Palak said that there should be a whole-of-globe approach in providing smart services to the citizens and achieving the goals.
